Somatic colleagues

I’d like to introduce you to special somatic people I know, all of whom I refer to with confidence, with some contributing blogs.

My Teachers

Strozzi Institute for Somatics

I met Richard in 1998, a pivotal moment, and began training with him at Strozzi Institute thereafter. He continues to be my primary mentor and teacher.

Richard Strozzi

Richard Strozzi-Heckler, Ph.D. is the original creator of the Strozzi Somatics methodology. He has spent over five decades teaching the practical application of Somatics (the unity of language, action, and meaning) to business leaders and executive managers. He has written nine books and generously wrote the preface to mine Love & Imperfection: A Therapist’s Story, calling it “a rich offering, full of wisdom and insight.”

I met Staci at Strozzi Institute in the nineties and trained with her in the generative somatics’ Somatics & Trauma program for four years.

Staci Haines

Staci Haines “is an innovator in the field of Somatics, focusing on how it can bring transformative capacity to social and climate justice movements and help heal the impacts of trauma and oppression…[and] the originator of generative somatics – a methodology to work with healing trauma from a somatic perspective, leading courses teaching social leaders, therapists and coaches in this work.”

UK Based Colleagues

I met Pete in 2009 through Strozzi, initially assisting him with Strozzi courses at Roffey Park in the UK – he has since become one of Strozzi’s senior teachers and a dear friend and colleague.

Pete Hamill

Pete Hamill, Ph.D. is a consultant, facilitator and coach with an international background in leadership and organisational development. His book Embodied Leadership was published in 2013 and he leads Strozzi Institute’s programmes in Europe.

I met Beverley through Strozzi in 2010 and enjoy collaborating with her on various projects, a close friend and colleague.

Beverley McMaster

Beverley McMaster works with corporate sponsored and self-funded clients who want to develop their leadership skills. Trained as both a somatic and ontological coach, Beverley is one of a handful of Strozzi Institute’s Master Somatic Coaches in the UK. She is also trained in polarity therapy, EMDR, Focusing and Constellations, all modalities lending themselves to the resolution of small “t” trauma and capital “T” Trauma.

I met Francis in 2010 through embodiment colleagues and he remains inspirational.

Francis Briers

Francis Briers is a remarkable man of many talents, including being a non-denominational mnister, teacher, corporate player “cultivating wise leadership, designing creative learning, facilitating change.

I met Maddie in 2016 as a result of her interest in somatics and she is now a valued colleague.

Maddie Fox

Maddie Fox describes herself as a “trusted listener, steward of authentic leadership, organisational culture guide” working with individuals and corporates. She has completed her training as a somatic coach with Strozzi Institute and is also an ICF accredited coach.

I met Soran in 2017 as a result of her interest in somatics and she is now a dear colleague.

Soran David

Soran David is an osteopath (and so much more), now qualified as an integrative coach-therapist and somatic practitioner.

I met Mark in 2020 as a result of his interest in somatics and we have stayed in touch ever since.
